Learn Sessions
JMemorize is based on learning methods developed by Leitner. The project About page has information about what that means and how JMemorize applies Leitners principles.
To kick off a learning session (after inputting/importing some cards) click the 'Learn' toolbar button.
Choose some settings (or leave the defaults) and click the 'Start Session!' button
Learn Session Settings
There are various Learn session settings are detailed on the following pages:
During a learn session
During a learning session you will work your way though a quiz. You will first view the front side of a card, try to remember what the flipside says, and then click to reveal the flip side. Tell jMemorize whether you remembered correctly (yes or no).
Be honest with yourself. Answering 'yes' when you didn't really have the answer (or could only partially answer the question) simply wastes your time and circumvents the memorization process. Of course, deciding the degree to which your answer must match the written answer depends on the nature of the memorization task.
TODO: when should you skip?
Results
The result of a learning session is that the cards all get reshuffled around a bit. In fact you will see this happening as the learning session progresses.
At the end of your session you also get a pie chart with sections showing percentage of cards:
- Learned
- Relearned
- Skipped
- Failed
